What's in Season in Minnesota?
Minnesota's growing season offers a beautiful variety of fresh, locally grown produce. The season kicks off in spring with early favorites like asparagus, rhubarb, spinach, radishes, and green onions — many of which hit their peak in May and June. As summer arrives, Minnesota farms burst with abundance, including sweet corn, tomatoes, cucumbers, peppers, green beans, blueberries, raspberries, strawberries, and fresh herbs. July and August represent the peak of the growing season, when the widest variety of fruits and vegetables are available at their freshest and most flavorful.
As the season transitions into fall, Minnesota continues to deliver a hearty harvest well into the later months. Cool-weather crops like broccoli, cabbage, cauliflower, Brussels sprouts, carrots, potatoes, and winter squash thrive into the Fall, while apples, pumpkins, parsnips, and turnips round out the autumn bounty. It's actually super easy to eat local long after summer has faded. We can't wait to provide you with the best Minnesota offers in your CSA box - or visit us at our Market events!

FAQs
What types of plants does Treeline Acres Nursery carry?
We carry a variety of annual and perennial plants and flowers grown specifically for our horticulture Zone 4. Annual flowers are provided in hanging baskets, pots, and planters for you to decorate your home and garden landscape. We also provide vegetable starts so you can kick off your edible garden with confidence.
Do you sell vegetable seedlings or just flowers?
We sell a wide variety of vegetable starts including tomatoes, peppers, cucumbers, broccoli, cauliflower, and so much more! Vegetables are grown in our own formula of compost with no added synthetic fertilizers, pesticides or insecticides.
Do you carry native plants or perennials, or just annuals?
We currently carry a limited variety of perennials and native plants. As our nursery grows, those varieties will grow along with us. We hope to have more varieties in coming years and welcome feedback from our customers and the types of native plant varieties they would like to see.
What hanging basket varieties will you have available in 2026?
We have a wide variety of 10” and 12” hanging baskets for both sun and shade. Common basket varieties include cascading flowers like petunias, alyssum, calibrachoa, lantana, and verbena.
Do you sell pre-planted planters and containers?
We create beautiful planters and containers available for purchase at the nursery as well as custom creations. We also have a service for small business owners who would like planters and seasonal decorations for their storefronts. Services include delivery and haul away. Details on that service can be found HERE.
Do you carry garden gifts or supplies beyond plants?
We have a farm stand boutique that carries a variety of garden supplies and locally-sourced gifts. You will be able to purchase anything from farm-fresh jams and preserves to gardening gloves. The farm stand will remain open all summer with varieties of garden vegetables, baked goods, and gifts.
What animals live at Treeline Acres?
We love introducing visitors to our carnival of crazy critters! Currently we have four alpacas, three goats, one baby doll sheep, a barn cat, two friendly golden retrievers, several laying hens, and a noisy rooster. Not to mention we are the keeper of tens of thousands of honeybees in the summer season. In the future, we hope to house a few cattle and hogs as well.
Can visitors interact with the alpacas, goats, and sheep?
Yes! We do allow visitors to interact and feed the animals but do ask that you respect their living spaces. Treat containers are available for sale in the farm stand. Signs are posted on how to act around the animals so they do not become stressed and you get a positive farm experience.
Are farm visits available for families or school groups?
Visits and tours are welcome but need to be booked in advance. Visits can range anywhere from a simple 30 minute tour to an entire afternoon. Contact us so we can plan your next visit.
